I have been the Head of a Biology Department with 10 staff for 26 years and at the same time the Head of a Science Faculty with 30 staff for 7 of those years. I have been blessed with two wonderful daughters, aged 26 and 17. At the end of 2016 I will complete 30 years loyal service at Auckland Grammar School and in 2017 my youngest daughter is moving on so my focus is now back on my career. I am passionate about teaching and science. I have run several international school trips, including a 4 week Science Tour for 42 people to Dubai and Europe that returned in May this year. While visiting schools abroad and especially Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (on a Woolf Fisher Scholarship in 1997 and again as a leader of a US State Department funded 2014 Australasian Youth Leadership Program) I became very interested in the concept of STEM / STEAM Schools. I am keen, communicative, have useful skill sets, am supportive and ready to make a positive contribution.
